There’s a conversation
you’ve been avoiding…
The One Conversation Challenge
…
The one with the family member, the old friend, the person whose views hardened in one directions, while yours did in another.
Over the next seven days, we’ll help you walk back toward that conversation.

What the challenge is
The One Conversation Challenge is seven days of short daily emails, each built on a single idea about how honest conversation actually works, and only takes a few minutes to read.
Together they walk you toward one real conversation, whether you arrive with it already in mind or it surfaces along the way. It won’t make that conversation easy, but it will leave you more ready to have it, and clearer about what you’re actually after.
What the seven days cover
Day 1
What’s actually true here, underneath what you each want to be true.
Day 2
Why the person you disagree with may see something you can’t.
Day 3
How to disagree with someone without turning them into an enemy.
Day 4
The moment your mind stops examining and starts defending, and what to do about it.
Day 5
Why understanding someone isn’t the same as agreeing with them.
Day 6
Why your honest voice is something the other person needs.
Day 7
The real goal of the conversation… which isn’t winning.
Who it’s for
Anyone carrying a conversation that matters and keeps not happening. A parent you can’t talk to about faith. A friend whose politics have hardened. A sibling, a colleague, an adult child. If one person came to mind while reading this, that’s who it’s for. And if no single person did, you’re just as welcome; bring a relationship that’s distanced or a conversation you tend to avoid, and let the specific one surface as you go.
Where it comes from
The challenge comes from Human Flourishing, a non-partisan movement and mission built on a simple idea: that the divide doesn’t heal from the top down, but one honest conversation at a time, at kitchen tables and in break rooms and group texts. This is a way to start with one of your own.
